Marketing via email lists ranks right up there as one of the most favorite methods of income generation. Anyone on your marketing list wants to be there, so it?s targeted traffic which is the very best kind to have. It?s all about relationships and conversions, and we?re going to share some solid pointers you can take away immediately and use.
The basis of any successful email marketing campaign is building a strong level of rapport with your subscribers. The best way to accomplish this is by having an open line of communication with them. Email marketers sometimes forget to have a regular interaction with them after making their list. But if you want your list to be responsive to your offers, then this is an integral step. So how can you make this happen for you? By way of an autoresponder can all this be accomplish. Basically this tool will hot wire your email marketing. This application is used to automatically send out your emails without you having to lift a finger. Many internet marketers have used autoresponders to increase sales and improve response rates from their readers. Autoresponders can allow you to leverage the power in your list to generate more sales. You can create a series of emails that you can use to follow up with your potential customers and expose them to your offer repeatedly until you see them taking action. You could also write a series of lessons to form an online course that can be delivered automatically through your autoresponder at set times.
You can also use the technique of offering your subscribers a bribe. Everyone likes to receive gifts or something for nothing. By offering people a bribe in exchange for their email address, you can build up your list. You can actually benefit from this in two different ways.
People can be enticed to join your list for this freebie, and your present subscribers can be given a reason to recruit more traffic on your behalf. This is how you grow your list and also make the most out of it. Techniques like this can get you more responses from your emails. Besides that, your free bribe can actually serve as a viral marketing tool, because people who spread it around will bring in more traffic, without you having to pay a penny. As you are going along and working your business, you will learn new ways to promote your offers; so what you need to do is hypothetically apply them to what you do and see if it is viable. We have received a lot of feedback from users of article marketing, and if it great and gives excellent results when applied in the right way. But you never know, we are sure some just do not have the ambition to grow or add new income streams to what they already have. As it concerns us, we keep our radar up and running at all times because we do not want to miss any chance to capitalize on an opportunity. Any business on or off the internet can benefit tremendously by expanding their marketing and advertising.
You have heard about all the shrewd business people who have taken every opportunity that comes across their desk if it would work with what they do in business.
Focus on your stats and on what they say. Email marketing services mostly give details on your stats and where it will take you. You must be sure to monitor all activity from your clicks and opens to unsubscribes. You can try placing your links at other areas and using different formats to see how subscribers differ in response. Compare the outcome and see how it is possible for improvement. The success of your campaign will be decided by various factors and would be your decision on how to act to achieve more profits.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) ? Unhappy wide receiver Percy Harvin has returned to Minnesota's practice after a brief absence following his request to be traded.
Harvin was on the field Thursday for the final portion of minicamp at Winter Park, taking part in all of the drills.
The fourth-year Vikings star said Tuesday that he's upset with the team about issues he refused to explain. He was present for Wednesday's walk-through but missing at the afternoon workout.
That came after word that Harvin wants to be dealt. General manager Rick Spielman then told reporters there is no plan to trade him.
Head coach Leslie Frazier said Wednesday he sees no reason why the situation can't be resolved.

Whale hits boat: ?An experienced sailor was rescued by coast guards after a whale collided with his boat.
By John S.Marshall,?Associated Press / June 19, 2012
A Northern California man was rescued after his 50-foot boat was struck by a whale while he sailed alone about 40 miles off the western coast of Mexico, authorities said.

The impact from the collision knocked out the sailboat's steering and the vessel began taking on water late Tuesday, U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Pamela Boehland said.
Max Young of Sacramento stuffed a mattress into the hole caused by the whale, turned on four bilge pumps and was "trying to bail out water as fast as he could, because he didn't know how long it would take to be rescued," his wife, Debra Young, told The Associated Press.
He also activated an emergency beacon, which alerted the Coast Guard.
"His EPIRB delivered an exact position to us, contact information that allowed us to quickly discern the sail plan of and number of persons on the vessel, and really took a lot of the search out of the search and rescue," said Lt. Charles Kelly, of the Coast Guard's command center in Alameda, Calif.
With that information, officials at the command center were able to immediately direct a merchant ship, which was about 60 miles away, to the sinking craft.
Meanwhile, as the rescue efforts were just beginning, Young was initially unaware that the boat was taking on water, his wife said.
"He was steering the boat and trying to get it back on course," Debra Young said. "It took him a while to realize he didn't have any steerage at all. It took him a bit longer to realize he was taking on water."
When the freighter arrived at around 4 a.m. Wednesday, Young scrambled off his boat by a rope ladder thrown by the ship's crew.
Young had been on the final leg of a trip from the East Coast to a marina in Emeryville, Calif., when the collision took place. The 67-year-old has been sailing for at least 30 years, but having worked on boats with his father, who was a commercial fisherman, he's been on the ocean most of his life, his wife said.
Debra Young said she has been able to talk to her husband while he's on board the merchant ship. He's not expected to make it back to Sacramento for another week or so.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is not being vetted as part of the Romney campaign's vice-presidential search, a report from ABC News says. Is that a snub of the GOP's most prominent Latino?
By Liz Marlantes / June 19, 2012

On Tuesday, however, came this report from ABC News's Jonathan Karl: Senator Rubio isn't even being vetted. Mr. Karl writes: "He has not been asked to complete any questionnaires or been asked to turn over any financial documents typically required of potential vice presidential candidates."
On Intrade, the online prediction market, Rubio's odds of being on the ticket have plunged from about 21 percent Monday to just over 5 percent Tuesday.
Now, as the ABC News report goes on to say, this doesn't necessarily mean Rubio won't be vetted at some point in the future. And as MSNBC's First Read points out, at least two other much-talked-about potential candidates ? Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels ? have also recently acknowledged they have not yet been asked to turn over any paperwork.?
Still, why would the Romney campaign want it known that they are not currently vetting Rubio (assuming that this story has, in fact, come from the Romney campaign)?
First Read suggests it could be a way of quietly lowering expectations for Rubio, to pave the way for his not being chosen.
We suppose that could be a necessary move. Rubio has in some ways occupied an odd space this campaign season: He's been the most buzzed-about vice-presidential candidate almost from the get-go, yet he has not been seen as the actual favorite for some time.
He has obvious strengths ? a charismatic speaker who hails from a key swing state and could put in play a voting bloc that Mr. Romney is clearly struggling to connect with. Still, lately, Washington insiders have tended to dismiss Rubio as a Sarah Palin-like choice. Too young, too flashy, with too many unknowns in his background that could prove problematic or even embarrassing.
But the risks of not even vetting ? and thereby appearing to snub ? the GOP's most prominent Latino seem awfully high.
On the other hand, the move may reflect a simple reality: Romney's path to the White House probably has less to do with improving his performance among Hispanics than with running up big numbers among white voters.
As National Journal's Ronald Brownstein recently wrote, polling suggests Romney could win by overperforming among whites (rather than by improving his share of the minority vote). He would essentially have to match Ronald Reagan's performance by winning two-thirds of working-class whites and men with college degrees ? a tall order, but one that may, in fact, be doable. As Mr. Brownstein puts it: "all evidence suggests that it's not beyond Romney's reach."
This certainly isn't a long-term strategy for success, given demographic trends. But Romney isn't trying to put the GOP on a path to a permanent majority; he's just trying to win this election.
Which may explain why Romney is currently on a bus tour through the Rust Belt, campaigning with Ohio Sen. Rob Portman and Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, while Rubio is back in Washington hawking his autobiography ? and watching his veepstakes odds fizzle.? ?

TROY, Ohio (AP) ? Mitt Romney is focusing on his grandchildren on Father's Day, bringing three of them to talk to the reporters traveling on his campaign plane.
The likely Republican presidential nominee on Sunday brought Parker, Nick and Chloe Romney to meet the press corps that sometimes sits in the rear of his charter aircraft. Romney himself rarely answers questions in such settings.
Parker, 6, said he thinks "Papa" ? the nickname his grandchildren use for him ? will beat President Barack Obama in November.
Romney's grandchildren have traveled with the campaign regularly. Obama's young daughters, Sasha and Malia, traveled with him during the 2008 campaign, though he's generally shielded them from coverage since.
Romney was flying from Ohio to Wisconsin to continue his bus tour.

But Hirshman aims to say something stronger, more interesting, and even more provocative than proclaiming victory for the equal rights of gay people. ?The movement succeeded,? she writes, ?uniquely and in large part because, at the critical moments, its leaders made a moral claim.? That claim was not simply a demand to be left alone but an insistence on society?s recognition of their ?virtue? on wholly equal terms with everybody else. Being gay would no longer be something that?s merely tolerated in a liberal state that made room for any kind of freak; LGBT equality would no longer mean the dominant society would hold its nose while granting rights to members of a group it despised. Instead, it would mean embracing gay and transgender people as equally worthy of respect and dignity. ?The gay movement was stuck with two choices,? writes Hirshman about the post-Stonewall era. ?They could ask the society to ignore or tolerate their behavior, immoral or not, in the interests of higher values like freedom or privacy.? Or they could insist that they and their actions were moral, that, in short, ?gay is good.?

I won't belabor the story, but it's a fairly simple tale of a finance minister who tries taxing the citizens of Canada into oblivion, whereupon Captain Tax Time and Sergeant Saver beat the snot out of him, take the money he had been earning from illegal drug dealings and donate that to the government to eliminate the deficit that the finance minister caused in the first place. I shouldn't need to say it, but there are more than a couple "Wha-huh?" moments for the reader.
It turns out that Haynes and his wife Jean were the owners/proprietors of Tax Time Services Limited, a Canadian tax preparation firm. He notes in his short biography at the end of the book that the story is deliberately satirical, and one gets the sense that he knows it's not the greatest comic in the world but he had fun with it and it was a neat little side project he did when he wasn't working on taxes.
The back cover (inside and out) includes an essay about taxes, with a very clear message about how one of the big problems in the Canadian tax system is that the wealthy are able to deduct their tax preparations services/fees by burying them under misleading accounting codes, whereas most people are required to pay taxes on their tax preparation services. I can see his point, but it seems kind of minor issue with regard to tax equality when, as he points out in his bio, "that wealthy people... use high priced talent to eliminate their taxes entirely..."
The last two pages of the book include ads (each featuring a four-panel comic) encouraging people to sign up for a "Personal Income tax Return Preparation Course" through Tax Time Services, apparently to become franchisees of the company. Nothing about using Tax Time Services as your own tax preparers, though, so I'm not entirely sure who this was aimed at. Particularly with the $4 CDN cover price.
Still, an odd little snapshot of a Canadian indie comic circa 1990. It's interesting to note, too, that little extra research turns up that Tax Time Services was bought by H&R Block in 1991, although there were some legal issues that tied them up in court for five years, by which point Tax Time Services was out of business.

AOC has a bit of a long-term memory issue: it claims the Aire iPlay E2343Fi is the first computer monitor to have a built-in iPhone and iPod docking station. Nope. But don't let that deter you from checking out the new 23-inch LCD, whose cradle in the base will both keep your Apple gear topped up as well as play movies and music through the display. The 10-watt speakers won't exactly bring the house down, though they will let you take the headphones off. As an actual computer display, it's a typical TN-based panel with a 1080p resolution, a quick 2ms pixel response time and a boldly claimed 50,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Those who find a separate dock or (gasp) wires too much can officially spend $280 for an Aire iPlay of their own today; Amazon and other shops have already knocked the price down to a more palpable $230.

CubeSats like the one shown in this artist's conception, measuring 4 inches (10 centimeters) on each side, are coming within reach of student experimenters and DIY enthusiasts.

Wanna do some space science? You no longer have to be a professional researcher, or even a grown-up, to get your experiment into orbit. A new program called DreamUp is offering slots on the International Space Station's experimental racks to school groups for as little as $15,500 a pop, and you can use credit-card reward points to help cover the cost.
"We are committed to lowering the barriers for entry to space research," Jeffrey Manber, managing director of NanoRacks, said in a news release announcing the program. "This is a double win. This first-of-its-kind student experiment donation platform will help create a world-class experience for students."
NanoRacks, which has already helped put iPhones and the makings for Scotch whisky into space, is partnering up with the Conrad Foundation on the DreamUp program.
"Some experiments can't be done on Earth because we can't 'turn off' gravity," said Nancy Conrad, the foundation's chairman and the widow of Apollo astronaut Pete Conrad. "DreamUp, powered by our partner NanoRacks, is the ultimate 'plug and play,' helping our next great innovators participate in a scientific research opportunity like no other."
Organizers say American Express Membership Rewards points can be put toward the cost of an experiment, at the rate of $10 for every 1,000 points redeemed. The DreamUp program is open to junior-high students, high-schoolers and college undergraduates from accredited U.S. schools.
Teacher, I shrunk the experiment
The concept follows up on a series of student experiments that have already flown up to the station on NanoRacks' platforms. One of the key players in the project will be Werner Vavken, director of Valley Christian Schools' Applied Math, Science and Engineering Institute in San Jose, Calif. Vavken and his students have built experiments for the space station and taught several other schools to do likewise.
The first lesson that Vavken shares with other schools is that doing space science isn't as hard as it sounds. "I explain this to them, and they think I'm from outer space," he told me. "But they really can do it. The sky is no longer the limit."
Werner Vavken / Valley Christian Schools
Valley Christian High School's principal, Mark Lodewyk (back row with tie), Vice Principal Jennifer Griffin and projector mentor George Sousa (in the blue shirt) witness the packing of one of two NanoLabs being readied for shipping to the International Space Station. The students are Brian Hu and Evan Borras.

A NanoLab container holds a plant growth experiment as well as electronic gear.
The key trick is to shrink the experiment: Vavken said the experiments that he and his students build have to fit within a 2-by-2-by-4-inch space (5 by 5 by 10 centimeters). That sounds incredibly challenging, but it can be done. One of the schools he worked with wanted to design an experiment to mix concrete in microgravity?? a task that some thought would cost millions of dollars. Suffice it to say that the eight-student team from Faith Christian Academy in Coalinga, Calif., found a cheaper way.
"They conjured up a way to mix concrete in space, in 16 cubic inches, and they didn't have a $4 million budget," Vavken said. The experiment is due to return to Earth next month aboard a Russian Soyuz craft, and the students will then analyze how zero-gravity concrete differs from the Earth-made equivalent on the molecular level.
Other high-school experiments have been aimed at monitoring?plant growth,?bacterial growth?and food spoilage in microgravity.
"The opportunity for students to do small experiments on the ISS is a powerful motivator in science, technology, engineering and math," Julie Robinson, NASA's chief scientist for the International Space Station, said in this week's news release. "DreamUp will provide the opportunity for top students of all socio-economic levels to fly their experiments to the space station, and the NanoRacks system allows them to be completed without any impact to other research activities."
The revolution continues
NanoRacks' standardized research platforms, known as NanoLabs, are shipped up to the space station on cargo flights. NASA astronauts plug them into the station's power and communication system, and then just let them run for 30 days. The students get the opportunity to interact with the astronauts and check in with their experiment.
"It's really pretty revolutionary for teenagers to conjure this up, get it built and tested, and approved by NanoRacks," Vavken said.
Next year could be even more revolutionary. "We are teaching the kids how to design and launch a satellite from the International Space Station," Vavken said. The CubeSat device, measuring 4 inches (10 centimeters) on each side, could be sent into orbit as early as next February from?Japan's Kibo laboratory, he said.
Vavken acknowledged that the $15,500 cost was "a little pricey," but he said the project could be a game-changer for teens who are interested in math, science and engineering. He recalled the case of one high-schooler who was on the team for a space experiment he helped organize. "She graduated this past year ... and got a four-year, full-ride scholarship to MIT," he said. "Now, I think that's a good payback for a kid in an after-school program."

But wait ... there's more
Meanwhile, aerospace experts and their corporate partners have just set up a Kickstarter campaign for a citizen-space-science project called ArduSat. They're soliciting donations to cover the anticipated $35,000 cost of building a CubeSat that will contain more than two dozen sensors for orbital observations. "As soon as the funding goal is met, we can move ahead with applications for free launches through various NASA or ESA ride-along programs," the project leaders say.
Organizers of the ArduSat project state their case for Kickstarter backing.
Organizers of the campaign say that ArduSat will be the "first open platform allowing the general public to design and run their own space-based applications, games and experiments, steer the onboard cameras to take pictures on demand, and even broadcast personalized messages back to Earth." If the project gets off the ground, Kickstarter supporters will get the first turns at taking the controls, at a discounted price.
Discover Magazine has partnered with ArduSat to run the Discover Space Challenge, which is soliciting ideas for innovative experiments, games or applications to run on the nanosatellite. The winning team members will be awarded a Team Development Kit that could turn their idea into a reality.

Welcome to one of the most unnecessarily complicated questions in the world of silicon-controlled gadgets: should a savvy customer care about the underlying nature of the processor in their next purchase? Theoretically at least, the answer is obvious. Whether it's a CPU, graphics card, smartphone or tricorder, it'll always receive the Holy Grail combo of greater performance and reduced power consumption if it's built around a chip with a smaller fabrication process. That's because, as transistors get tinier and more tightly packed, electrons don't have to travel so far when moving between them -- saving both time and energy. In other words, a phone with a 28-nanometer (nm) processor ought to be fundamentally superior to one with a 45nm chip, and a PC running on silicon with features etched at 22nm should deliver more performance-per-watt than a 32nm rival.
But if that's true, isn't it equally sensible to focus on the end results? Instead of getting bogged down in semiconductor theory, we may as well let Moore's Law churn away in the background while we judge products based on their overall user experience. Wouldn't that make for an easier life? Well, maybe, but whichever way you look at it, it's hard to stop this subject descending into pure philosophy, on a par with other yawnsome puzzles like whether meat-eaters should visit an abattoir at least once, or whether it's better to medicate the ailment or the person. Bearing that in mind, we're going to look at how some key players in the silicon industry treat this topic, and we'll try to deliver some practical, offal-free information in the process.

Demetrious Johnson took care of unfinished business at UFC on FX 3 in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night.
Johnson took the lead early by dropping McCall with a right hand halfway through the first round. McCall continually moved forward towards Johnson, but couldn't always land strikes when he did. Throughout the bout, Johnson's conditioning and footwork gave him an edge. He was able to move in and move out to land strikes, frustrating McCall throughout.
There was no scoring error this time as Johnson was announced the winner via unanimous decision. The judges gave it to Johnson 29-28, 30-27 and 29-28.
"It's about using my athletic ability and letting my mind go free," Johnson said about his performance.
The fight was a rematch after their March bout that ended in a draw. That fight didn't go to a fourth round to decide who would advance in the tournament because an incorrect score was announced.
The judges made a definitive, and correct, decision on Friday night. Johnson's win means he'll fight Joe Benavidez for the UFC's first flyweight championship.
